Tate Britain.

Tomorrow (Thursday 13th July) I shall be visiting Tate Britain to see the Constable Landscape exhibition and the Turner Watercolour collection. It will be good to see the Haywain in real life but I am particularly looking forward to seeing Turners work. My hero.

  1. Lucky you. Please check out the William Blake pages in the basement, if they're still there (they were in windows when I saw them in 1983, covered by cloths.)

Completely luminous, and have a presence impossible to sense from reproductions. The paint is so thick in places I think it began to build up into an impasto.
