Taking Risks.

I was reluctant to post these images, because it means that a couple of the paintings at the bottom of this page would have to go and I am quite proud of them.

However these are both a slight change from my regular paintings which is a good thing really. I need to be more diverse and take risks. I hope you like them.

Birches in the Snow. Watercolour 7 x 5 inches.

Lone Oak on Tottenham Marshes. Watercolour 7 x 5 inches.

  1. Adore the top one, John. The second, not so much - maybe too intense color for me? But that top is just perfectly painted!

  2. From here, those trees look real, not painted.

I like both images, the top for the detail and the bottom for the light and color.

  3. I really love both!

The top one is just great to look at - don't have specifics for why, but I love it.

In the second one I love how soft everything is - except for the lone tree. Love the contrast there.

You'll have to be brave and step out of your comfort zone more often! (she says as she plans, yet another, flower painting).

  4. Love the Loan Oak watercolor. The soft affect of wet-in-wet really appeals to me. Leaves things to the imagination.
