Hadley Wood Stream.

I'm enjoying working on this larger format. It allows me to work looser and not get bogged down with fiddley detail. I'm still aware that I need to be more economical with my brush strokes. It was the light through the trees reflecting on the water that appealed to me in this scene.

  1. Just WOW, John.. amazing light! You have the most wonderful watercolour washes... I wish you did workshops in the States, I would be there in a flash (you really DO want to come to Florida, don't you?)

    Totally love this one!

  2. I'd love to come to Florida Rose but in the meantime, look over to the left and find my links. There are some video demos that you may find interesting. I think they are near the bottom of my YouTube channel. Thanks for your comments, they are much appreciated.

  3. John, will do. If they are the ones that I had commented on about a week ago, they are awesome and I have played them about 10 times as well as thought about trying out your invention. You have such a special style! Have a great evening!

  5. Beautiful as ever. I like the tunnel sort of depth effect in this one. I'm still learning the tricky "foreground" woodland objects!
